For generations, the Bustros family has owned a vast agricultural estate in the Lebanese West Bekaa Valley. It was in 1946 that the construction of the castle began, established on a tell, an artificial hill raised by the Romans in the earlier centuries to monitor troop movements. The first vines appeared in 1951 and it was only in 1979 and in extremely difficult conditions during the Lebanese war (1975-1990), that Château Kefraya began to produce its own wine, with grapes from its own vineyard and vinified in its own cellar. “Les Coteaux de Kefraya” 1982 and 1983 received the first medals in international competitions.
